Privacy Policy for Mealix

Overview

Mealix is an AI-assisted weekly meal planning app developed by SuboVision. This policy explains what information Mealix collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information You Provide

Depending on how you use Mealix, you may provide:

• Account information, such as your email address and password for registration and sign-in.
• Meal planning profile, such as health goal, activity level, meals per day, dietary restrictions, allergies, cuisine preferences, and free-form meal preferences.
• Meal plan data, including meal names, descriptions, ingredients, meal times, recipe requests, grocery lists, and meal adaptation instructions.
• App preferences, such as language, theme, notification settings, and AI planning settings.
• Support messages if you contact us by email.

Information Collected Automatically

Mealix may create or receive technical information needed to operate the app:

• Device identifier: a random per-install device ID is generated and stored with SecureStore first, with local storage fallback, so the backend can associate requests and subscription state.
• Authentication tokens: sign-in tokens are stored securely on your device and sent to the backend for authenticated features.
• Subscription status: RevenueCat and the app stores provide entitlement and purchase status information so Mealix can unlock Pro features.
• Basic request data: backend servers may receive standard technical data such as IP address, request time, endpoint, and user agent as part of normal server operation and security logging.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

• Generate personalized weekly meal plans, individual meal replacements, recipes, and grocery lists.
• Create and manage your account, authenticate requests, and help restore data across devices.
• Sync your meals, profile, recipes, grocery lists, language, and theme when you choose cloud sync.
• Check feature flags and subscription entitlements.
• Provide support, troubleshoot issues, protect the service, and improve app reliability.

AI Processing

AI meal planning is performed server-side. When you generate or adapt meals, Mealix sends relevant profile details, meal plan details, language preference, and your written instructions to the Mealix backend. The backend uses this information to create meal plans, recipes, and grocery lists.

Please do not enter sensitive medical information beyond the dietary restrictions, allergies, and preferences needed for meal planning. Mealix is not medical advice.

Local Storage and Cloud Sync

Mealix stores app data locally on your device using platform storage so your meal plan and preferences remain available in the app. Local data can include meals, profile, language, theme, notification preferences, cached recipes, and cached grocery lists.

If you create an account or use sync features, Mealix may upload a copy of your local data to the backend so it can be restored on another device. You can delete your account and server-side data from the app.

Notifications

Mealix uses local notifications to remind you about meals. Notification scheduling happens on your device based on your meal plan and reminder settings. You can enable, disable, or reset notifications in the app settings or in your device settings.

Permissions

Mealix may request or declare permissions needed by the app or Expo/React Native runtime:

• Internet to communicate with the Mealix backend, RevenueCat, and app store services.
• Notifications to send local meal reminders.
• Vibration to accompany notification alerts where supported.
• Storage or media-related permissions may be declared by platform tooling or dependencies, but Mealix does not need your contacts or location for meal planning.

Third-Party Services

Mealix uses limited third-party services to operate the app:

• RevenueCat to manage subscription entitlements, customer identifiers, purchase state, and restore purchases.
• Apple App Store and Google Play to process in-app purchases and subscriptions.
• Backend hosting and infrastructure providers to run the Mealix API and store synced account data.
• Email providers when you contact support or request account-related email flows such as password reset.

We do not sell your personal information. Mealix does not use third-party advertising SDKs.

Data Retention and Deletion

Local data remains on your device until you clear app data, reset data inside the app, or uninstall the app. If you use account sync, server-side account data is kept while your account is active or as needed to operate the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and maintain security.

Signed-in users can delete their account from the app settings. This requests deletion of server-side account data, including synced meal plans, recipes, and grocery lists. App store purchase records may remain with Apple, Google, and RevenueCat as required for subscription management, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

Your Choices

• You can edit or clear local meal and profile data in the app.
• You can disable notifications at any time.
• You can choose whether to use account sync features.
• You can restore or manage subscriptions through the app store and RevenueCat-powered flows.
• You can contact us to request privacy help or account support.

Children's Privacy

Mealix is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can help delete it.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including secure local token storage where supported and authenticated backend requests. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date on this page. Your continued use of Mealix after an update means the updated policy applies.
